Today our show is about a Elinor Ostrom, a woman who pushed the envelope in the academia world when women weren’t well respected in that community.  I speak with Erik Nordman, an Ostrom Scholar and author of The Uncommon Knowledge of Elinor Ostrom: Essential Lessons for Collective Action. In his book he explores the ideas of Elinor Ostrom (the first woman to win a Nobel Prize in Economics), who argued that addressing a global problem like climate change will require a truly collective response, not just from governments but at the individual, local, and regional levels as well. Ostrom pushed the envelope at a time when women were not well respected in the academic communities.
